Sandy Point Waterfront Homes
Sandy Point is a beach community located west of Bellingham and just south of Ferndale Washington. Sandy Point is technically part of the Lummi Indian Reservation, however the homes for sale in Sandy Point are all fee simple and there are no land leases.
There are three different types of properties on Sandy Point. Homes located on Sucia Dr face west and feature views of the shipping lanes in the Georgia Straits. The beach along Sucia Dr is sandy and there is no bank. Most of the homes are located fairly close to the water and can be subject to high winds, although there is known issues of storm surge of flooding.
Sandy Point is unique because there is a channel that runs through the middle of the point with a marina. Nearly all of the homes located along this channel have private docks. In addition to the privately owned docks, there is also moorage space available for long and short term lease.
The third area for homes in Sandy Point is on Salt Spring Dr. Salt Spring Dr faces east with sunrise views over Mount Baker. The water front on Salt Spring is not as sandy as Sucia, but one could easily launch a small boat from the protected waters on the east side of Sandy Point.
